Northwest Corvette Association selects 2016 charities

The Northwest Corvette Association is a 501c7 organization which meets in Vancouver. Each year, the club’s members select organizations in the Greater Clark County area to donate funds raised throughout the year.

The association’s largest fundraiser is their annual “Endless Summer Cruise-In,” which in 2015 brought together over 100 area car enthusiasts who wanted to show their Hot Rods and Muscle cars. Of all the funds raised, 100 (along with some matching funds donated from the club) went to two charities.

For 2016, the club has selected two local organizations.

One of the two organizations is Northwest Battle Buddies. A Battle Buddie is a partner dog assigned to a fellow soldier in the United States Armed Forces. The Battle Buddie has the responsibility to assist their partner in all things in and out of combat. Northwest Battle Buddies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing qualified combat veterans suffering from PTSD and/or depression with trained service dogs which will assist and support them through their daily lives.

The other organization selected is the Ray Hickey Hospice House. The Ray Hickey Hospice House offers local families an alternative home-like environment where loved ones may receive end-of-life-care. The center includes 20 private rooms where patient families can visit day and night. This will be the third year in a row the Northwest Corvette Club has donated to this organization.

The Northwest Corvette Association is comprised of nearly 100 Corvette members and meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month. For more information on these organizations, visit their websites – www.northwestbattlebuddies.org, www.peacehealth.org and www.nwcorvette.com.
